Carlos Tevez Has Lunch With Argentina President Mauricio Macri in Shanghai

While Carlos Tevez has hardly set the Chinese Super League on fire with his footballing contribution, at least Shanghai Shenhua fans will be glad to know that he is pulling his weight on the international diplomacy front.

Indeed, the 33-year-old striker met with the president of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, on Wednesday when the two shared a family luncheon at the Hyatt Hotel in Shanghai.

The meeting came at the end of Macri’s ongoing state visit to China, where he is seeking to establish new trade agreements.

Presumably he sought counsel with Tevez on the proviso that, with reported weekly wages of around £615,000, the veteran forward appears to have successfully established a very lucrative trade deal of his own.

Macri later posted a short video of Tevez on his official Twitter page, sending greetings to the people of Argentina.

Of course, it should be noted that the pair actually go way back, with Macri having previously served a stint as club president of Boca Juniors beginning in 1996, roughly one year before Tevez joined the club as a 13-year-old prodigy.
