The Manchester United captain has been heavily linked with a lucrative move to the Far East before the Chinese transfer window closes on Tuesday.
However, at least two Chinese Super League sides are not interested, according to BBC Sport’s Richard Conway.
5. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United and England)
“Jiangsu Suning – along with Beijing Guoan – rule themselves out of signing Wayne Rooney”
He tweeted: “Chinese sides Jiangsu Suning – along with Beijing Guoan – rule themselves out of signing Wayne Rooney from Manchester United.
“Diminishing options for Rooney camp. Or was a transfer to China ever viable for him?”

Yesterday Rooney’s agent Paul Stretford flew out to China, further heightening expectation of a move.
However, Starsport understands Stretford’s trip is routine and not out of the ordinary as he visits the country once a month.
Rooney may have played his last game for the Red Devils after finally eclipsing Sir Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record at Old Trafford.
He rifled a last-minute equaliser against Stoke last month to get to the top of the pile with 250 strikes.
